#PulseOrlando: A Forum for the Philanthropic Community
This past weekend saw the worst mass shooting in the United States since the Wounded Knee Massacre in 1890. The attack on an LGBTQ nightclub left 49 people dead and many more wounded, most of them LGBTQ and Latino/a/x. Recognizing that this event is so recent that emotions are many and raw, Funders for LGBTQ Issues and NFG are hosting this forum for the philanthropic community to share reactions and information about immediate needs and concerns, and to begin a preliminary discussion about how funders can respond to the many longer-term challenges highlighted by this horrific tragedy.
Facilitated by Ben Francisco Maulbeck, President of Funders for LGBTQ Issues and Lorraine Ramirez, Program Manager of the Working Group on Place-Based Community Change and Funders for Justice at the Neighborhood Funders Group.
